Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Lithuania as of 1 January 2010 amounted to EUR 9.64 billion, which is by 5.3 per cent more than as of 1 January 2009 (EUR 9.15 billion). FDI per capita amounted to EUR 2895 (as of 1 January 2009, EUR 2731).
The largest investment was made by Swedish – EUR 1.14 billion (11.8 per cent of total FDI), Polish – EUR 1.01 billion (10.5 per cent), Danish – EUR 1.00 billion (10.4 per cent), German – EUR 1.00 billion (10.4 per cent), Dutch – EUR 0.66 billion (6.8 per cent), Estonian – EUR 0.63 billion (6.5 per cent), Russian – EUR 0.62 billion (6.5 per cent), and Finnish – EUR 0.46 billion (4.7 per cent) investors.
Direct investment from EU-27 countries amounted to EUR 7.6 billion (78.7 per cent of total FDI), from CIS countries – EUR 0.7 billion (7 per cent).
