Established in 1983, the Lithuanian laser producer EKSPLA initially represented the scientific instrumentation market of the former USSR. In 1993 EKSPLA entered the Japanese market and to date over thirty Japanese spectroscopic and material research laboratories have purchased EKSPLA laser systems. After later successfully entering the European, Asian, North and South American as well as Australian markets, today EKSPLA has half of the world market for pico-second lasers.

D.BOSS, an export-oriented specialized LCD TV company doing business in 78 countries globally and holding a share of 13% in LCD TV area in EUROPE, to be more competitive and stronger in the EU, built up a local manufacturing system in Lithuania. The Lithuanian D.Boss factory produces 20,000 LCD TV sets per month, and its turnover will reach USD 50 mill. in 2006.
